Empowering and Celebrating Indigenous People

The IG Empower Your Tomorrow platform provides us with the opportunity to improve the financial confidence of Indigenous People

test

On Sunday, June 21, we will celebrate the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis, by recognizing the importance of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

At IG Wealth Management, we understand there are individuals within the Indigenous community who have very real and unique needs when it comes to financial education and literacy. We remain committed to improving the financial confidence of Indigenous People by leveraging the IG Empower Your Tomorrow platform.

We believe that providing Indigenous People with the knowledge and resources they need to gain a stronger understanding of their personal finances will help them build a better financial future for themselves, their families as well as Indigenous communities. This is why we partner with national and local organizations to support financial literacy and job readiness programs, as well as scholarships for Indigenous youth.

“I learned about the many resources available to help us manage our money and find support when we are in financial trouble. Now that I am working, I can share my knowledge with my coworkers and my community.” – Zeenat (Indigenous participant of an IG-supported job readiness program)

The Indigenous Accord

IG Wealth Management was also among more than 40 Winnipeg-based companies and organizations that added their names to the city's Indigenous Accord in 2018. We remain committed to reconciliation efforts between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples by continuing to report on our success, and we plan on re-signing the accord next year.

See IG Empower Your Tomorrow for more information on how IG Wealth Management is working to improve the financial confidence of all Canadians.
