The Investors Group approach to Socially Responsible Investing (SRI)

At Investors Group, we believe you can invest for both performance and social good at the same time.

We were one of the first major Canadian financial institutions to offer a mutual fund that featured heightened social ideals with the launch of Investors Summa SRI^TM Fund in 1987. Over more than twenty years, Investors Summa SRI Fund has become the largest socially responsible fund in Canada ⁱ.

SRI is a broad approach to investing that may incorporate factors related to environmental sustainability, social responsibility or various social issues with traditional investment analysis. This approach to investing provides solid investment choices designed to fit both your financial goals and personal values.

We offer two SRI funds focused on companies that have adopted progressive standards and practices towards the environment, human rights, and/or other social issues and an environmental fund focused on companies who are environmental leaders in their industries. Investing in these types of funds provides you with the comfort of knowing that you are investing in companies that meet certain stringent socially responsible investment criteria.

The Investors Summa Fund Family provides Canadians with a selection of socially responsible investments and builds on our money management experience, proven track record and solid long-term performance.

Investors Summa SRI Fund & Class	Will invest primarily in Canadian companies that have adopted progressive standards and practices toward the environment, human rights, and other social issues. Will not invest in companies whose revenues are primarily derived from alcohol, tobacco, gambling, pornography, or critical weapon systems.
Investors Summa Global SRI Fund & Class	Will invest primarily in companies from around the world that have adopted progressive standards and practices toward the environment, human rights, and other social issues. Will not invest in companies whose revenues are primarily derived from alcohol, tobacco, gambling, pornography, or critical weapon systems.
Investors Summa Global Environmental Leaders Fund & Class	Will invest primarily in companies from around the world that are creating innovative or emerging solutions to environmental issues, and/or have environmental practices that set a standard within environmentally sensitive industries.

The Investors Group comprehensive investment process is committed to finding companies that meet specific socially responsible investment criteria that have been established for each fund within the Investors Summa Fund Family.

To support this commitment, our professionals were among the first to use third party global SRI screening services to assist with the evaluations of companies against specific environmental and/or socially responsible criteria. These services will continue to be used to help assess suitability of companies for inclusion into each fund’s investable universe.
