Investors Group is pleased to announce our platinum level sponsorship of the National 2008 AIDS Walk for Life, as well as Ça Marche in Québec.
The walk is Canada 's largest community based HIV/AIDS awareness and fundraising event and is held in 54 cities across the country. Since 1996, the AIDS Walk for Life has raised over $27.5 million for community based HIV/AIDS organizations across Canada and has attracted over half a million participants.
Sponsoring the AIDS Walk for Life is a way for Investors Group to help boost community awareness of the issue. Almost 60,000 people in Canada are living with HIV/AIDS and without adequate information the numbers will continue to keep rising. According to recent polls, 95% of Canadians believe that HIV/AIDS is a very or somewhat serious problem in Canada . By sponsoring the AIDS Walk for Life we are directly responding to these concerns.
Over 40% of Canadians know or have known someone infected by HIV/AIDS. Participating in the Aids Walk for Life is a great way to support community members who have been affected by the disease.

Our offices across the country partner with their local food banks to raise funds and food through a variety of events and activities.
Investors Group is the national corporate partner of National Volunteer Week, an initiative lead by Volunteer Canada to celebrate the role and work of volunteers across Canada. Volunteers. From Compassion to Action is the theme for the week-long celebration. In addition to corporate funding, our local offices participate by supporting a wide range of volunteer recognition events and initiatives in their local communities.
This unique partnership merges the voluntary sector expertise of Volunteer Canada and the business leadership of Investors Group to develop valuable volunteer programming for the Baby Boomers, the largest generational cohort ever in our society.
Research already demonstrates that there is an interesting duality in the nature of volunteering. That the act of volunteering one’s time and energy benefits not only those who are the recipients of these acts, but also those who are contributing!
Over the next 36 months, Volunteer Canada & Investors Group will work together to promote and increase the volunteer participation of the Baby Boomers while demonstrating the link between volunteering and healthy aging.
Through research and campaign development, valuable tools and resources targeted at engaging this diverse cohort will be developed and offered to both Baby Boomers directly and voluntary organizations across the country.
