Investors Group announces Investors Global Real Estate Fund and a new portfolio
Winnipeg – January 14, 2008: Investors Group today announced the launch of two new funds:
- Investors Global Real Estate Fund; and,
- AltoTM Monthly Income and Global Growth Portfolio.
The new funds will be focused on long-term capital appreciation and current income. As well, the funds will add global diversification to clients’ investment portfolios.
“Having enough money for retirement is an important goal for many Canadians,” said John Wiltshire, Senior Vice-President of Product and Financial Planning at Investors Group. “The addition of these new mandates gives Canadians additional options for both growth and income opportunities in their retirement.”
Investors Global Real Estate Fund provides a combination of long-term capital growth and current income by investing primarily in real estate investment trust units(REITs) and equity securities of companies around the world that principally derive their revenues from activities in the real estate sector.
This new fund is also expected to provide diversification benefits to traditional equity and fixed-income funds, given the historically low correlation of returns of securities in the global real estate sector to stock and bond markets generally.
Investors Global Real Estate Fund will be sub-advised by LaSalle Investment Management (Securities) L.P. and its affiliates, which specialize in advising on global real estate securities and has a team of over 60 professionals located around the world. Also, Jones Lang LaSalle, the parent company, is one of the world’s largest property managers.
The AltoTM Monthly Income and Global Growth Portfolio features a moderate aggressive investment profile that is global in nature, and provides a flow of income and higher potential for long-term capital growth. The new mandate complements three existing AltoTM Monthly Income Portfolios which allow investors to custom-fit cash flow to their personal financial needs. Among other funds, the AltoTM Monthly Income and Global Growth Portfolio will invest in Investors Global Real Estate Fund.
The new funds are available to Canadian investors immediately.
